In a world where light can mean safety, hope, and dignity, one generous soul continues to shine brightly for a community close to her heart. Diana McDermott, founder of the Philippine Solar Village Project (PVSP), based in California, USA, has once again extended her unwavering support to the Gelacio I. Yason Foundation – Family Farm School (GIYF-FFS) by donating solar lights for our students and their families.

This recent initiative is part of an ongoing collaboration that began in 2019, driven by a shared dream of climate action, community healing for our Kababayans, and partnership for the goals. Since then, PVSP and GIYF-FFS have not only focused on sustainable energy solutions but also nurtured a holistic approach to well-being, blending Eastern and Western healing modalities—bringing light not only to homes but to hearts and spirits.

A Partnership Rooted in Purpose
It all started with a vision: to respond to the energy needs of underserved communities in a way that protects the Earth. Diana, with her deep passion for ecological justice and community empowerment, saw the need in the rural areas of the Philippines and responded with action. Through PVSP, she introduced solar lighting systems to families in the Gelacio community. These lights serve as symbols of hope and transformation—lighting the way forward for both present and future generations.

GIYF-FFS, a school that also serves as a community development hub, became a natural partner in this mission. The foundation's commitment to education, rural development, and integrative wellness aligned perfectly with PVSP’s values.
A Healing Partnership Beyond Light

Beyond the tangible benefits of solar lighting, this partnership is also a spiritual and healing collaboration. Diana and GIYF-FFS have embraced an inclusive and holistic vision by sharing different healing practices across cultures. These include Reiki, meditation, breathwork, energy healing, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Myofascial Release, massage, Capacitar, Acupressure, prayer, and indigenous wellness rituals. By bridging Eastern wisdom and Western practices, they offer the community not just tools for physical light, but for inner illumination and resilience.
Together, they’ve co-hosted wellness sessions, spiritual dialogues, and energy healing spaces for both students and teachers—planting seeds of love, self-care, and environmental consciousness.
A Grateful Community
The Gelacio community extends heartfelt gratitude to Diana McDermott and the entire PVSP team. Your enduring generosity, commitment to sustainability, and compassionate leadership have made a lasting impact. From lit-up corners to uplifted spirits, your light continues to ripple across generations.
As we continue walking towards the shared goals of climate justice, partnership, and community healing, we are reminded: When we come together with love and purpose, even the smallest light can change the world.
🌱💡✨Let’s keep sharing the light.
